Analytical Validation of Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) Using Saliva, Buccal Swab, and Whole Blood Matrices

This white paper presents the analytical validation of Eurofins Viracor BioPharma’s Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) assay across saliva, buccal swab, and whole blood sample types. The study confirmed high accuracy, precision, and specificity—achieving over 99% sensitivity for single nucleotide variants and over 95% for insertions and deletions. Results demonstrated excellent matrix equivalency (>98% agreement) and sample stability under various storage conditions. These findings establish the WES assay as a robust, reliable solution for comprehensive genomic profiling across multiple sample collection methods.
