Workshop

PBMC Working Group Updates and Best Practice Guideline Recommendations

πŸ“… Saturday, June 6, 2026
⏰ 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
πŸ“ Ballroom A

Speakers

  • Thomas Beadnell, PhD – Scientific Advisor, Eurofins Clinical Trial Solutions
  • Karen Quadrini, PhD – Director, Clinical Biomarkers, Prothena Biosciences
  • Sylvia Janetzki, MD – President, Zellnet Consulting, Inc.

For studies involving peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), sample processing is a critical variable that can significantly impact assay performance and data quality.

During drug development and clinical trials, logistical challenges can make it difficult to harmonize PBMC processing across studies. This workshop will explore strategies to reduce variability and improve quality in PBMC isolation, processing, and functional assays.

Building on discussions from CYTO 2025, workshop organizers have established a PBMC Consortium focused on harmonizing PBMC processing workflows. The goal is to develop consensus guidance and best practice recommendations that improve reproducibility and scientific rigor across PBMC-based research and clinical studies.

Attending the workshop? Visit the Eurofins Clinical Trial Solutions team at Booth 600 to continue the discussion.
